Overview & Highlights

Welcome to the charming world of Petty Harbour Public House, a culinary gem nestled in the scenic town of Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. Located at 30 Main Rd, this restaurant is not just a place to eat, but a vibrant hub filled with warmth, community, and delightful flavors.

The ambiance here is nothing short of inviting, with a cozy setting that enhances the dining experience. Many patrons speak fondly of the backyard patio, a serene spot perfect for family gatherings or a casual evening with friends. Live music often graces the space, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. As one customer noted, “The staff were very friendly, and the drinks were refreshing,” highlighting the welcoming service that defines Petty Harbour Public House.

Now, let’s dive into the star of the show: the menu. The Cod Cakes, featuring local cod mixed with potatoes and served with a zingy lemon caper aioli for just CA$15.00, have garnered rave reviews for their delightful flavor and texture. For seafood lovers, the Buttered Baby Scallops, delivered with a luscious Cajun butter and fresh baguette, priced at CA$18.00, promise a taste of the ocean that lingers delightfully on the palate.

The Fish and Chips, a classic rendition at CA$24.00, boasts gluten-free beer-battered cod accompanied by a fresh coleslaw, bringing comfort food to new heights. If you're in the mood for something heartier, the pub burger showcases a 6 oz fresh local beef patty layered with rich pub sauce, pickles, onions, and cheese for CA$26.00—a true indulgence that many diners rave about. And let’s not overlook the Crispy Cod Sandwich; this dish delivers a satisfying crunch paired with a refreshing lemon caper aioli and is perfect for lunch or a light dinner.

It’s worth noting that some guests have voiced disappointment in the evolving menu, with favorites like the lobster roll and mac n cheese recently retired from the offerings. However, this only speaks to the establishment's commitment to quality and seasonal dining, as they source local ingredients to create dishes that reflect the culinary landscape of Newfoundland.

In conclusion, Petty Harbour Public House is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of community, local flavors, and memorable experiences. Whether you're savoring the expertly prepared pork belly special or indulging in a perfectly cooked scallop dish, there's no doubt that this spot will leave you eagerly planning your next visit. Lovely little spot in Petty Harbour. Service was awesome, really great people. The back patio is super chill and scenic! Disappointed in the food selection for sure. We were told by friends that they had a great Lobster roll and Mac n cheese but found out when we got there they removed both items from the menu.

Stumbled upon this place and it did not disappoint! Staff were very friendly, the drinks were refreshing, and the food was great - we didn’t leave a crumb! Hubby ordered a lager and the Codfish Burger and I ordered the Scallops! Will definitely come back!

Great spot and great atmosphere. I had the lobster roll and beef burger--both were great.

We went for supper last night anticipating the usual pub fare. We were amazed by the food! Their Red Seal chef prepared a pork belly special that was to die for! And my husband let me try his fries and burger. I think that was the best burger I have ever tasted!! They source ingredients and beverages locally. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate. The live music added to the ambiance. We were even more surprised this morning to learn they were open for brunch. We didn’t have to think twice about where we were going for breakfast! We have been raving about this place all day. Make it a point to go.

The food here is fantastic. I had a chili with eggs and my wife and daughter had Toutons. This is a must when in Petty Harbour.

Best Fish & Chips I have ever tasted. We had a wonderful time on the terrasse. Great service.

What a beautiful spot! The food is delicious, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Take your time driving through town. There is a public parking lot, limited space, $5 fee to park.
